DESOTO, Texas — A young mother of three, identified as 28-year-old LaTonya Bogney, died after a severe single-vehicle crash on North I-35E in the early morning hours of November 8, leaving her family devastated and the community mourning.

Authorities say the collision occurred around 2:40 a.m., and the impact was so violent that Bogney was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining catastrophic injuries.

Emergency responders transported Bogney to a nearby hospital, where doctors placed her on life support, but medical staff were unable to reverse the extensive trauma.

Her family remained at her bedside for days, holding her hand and praying for a miracle that ultimately did not come. Loved ones said she never regained consciousness.

Bogney’s mother confirmed her passing in an emotional statement, describing her as “my baby, my second child, my oldest girl,” and calling the accident “life-ending” and “unfair.”

She said the young mother would never again see her three children, who are now left without their parent. “My baby will not be walking out of this hospital,” she wrote.

The family also revealed that Bogney did not have life insurance, leaving them to confront unexpected funeral expenses while still grappling with overwhelming grief.

Her mother urged the public to avoid posting premature tributes out of respect for the family’s need for privacy, stating that only immediate relatives and two close friends were being allowed to visit during this period.

Loved ones described the days following the crash as the most painful of their lives, spent in hospital waiting rooms, clinging to each other and to memories of Bogney’s bright spirit.

They recalled her as a devoted mother whose laughter filled every room and whose presence anchored her children’s lives.

Family members say they will now focus on raising her three children and ensuring they receive the love and stability their mother would have wanted.

However, they acknowledge that arranging services without insurance has placed additional strain on them, and they are relying on community support to help provide a proper farewell.

As they prepare for the difficult days ahead, the family asks for compassion, patience, and privacy as they mourn a daughter, sister, and mother taken far too soon.

Funeral arrangements will be announced once details are finalized, according to Bogney’s mother.
