DENTSVILLE, S.C. — The Richland County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that human remains found near Shakespeare Road in the Dentsville area belong to 56-year-old Angela Fuller, a woman who had been missing since late August.
The identification ends weeks of uncertainty for her family but opens a new chapter of questions about how she died and who may be responsible.
Fuller was reported missing on August 29, after relatives said they had not heard from her and grew increasingly concerned for her safety.
Investigators later determined that the last person known to have been with her was her boyfriend, Anthony Reese, who has since been publicly named as a person of interest in the case.
Authorities have not said when Fuller was last physically seen alive.
Deputies were called to the area around Shakespeare Road after remains were discovered in recent days.
The scene was quickly secured as crime scene technicians and investigators worked to collect evidence and document the location.
The coroner’s office later used investigative methods, including comparison to missing-person records, to confirm the remains were those of Angela Fuller.
Officials have not yet released a cause or manner of death, saying those details will depend on the results of a full autopsy and any additional forensic testing.
Toxicology and other exams can take time, and investigators are cautioning against speculation while they work to piece together a timeline of Fuller’s final days.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has reiterated that Anthony Reese remains a person of interest and that he was the last confirmed individual to have been with Fuller before she disappeared.
As of now, no charges related to Fuller’s death have been announced, and detectives say they are continuing to interview witnesses, review digital records, and examine physical evidence tied to both the recovery site and her prior whereabouts.
Family members of Fuller have been notified of the identification and are said to be devastated by the confirmation of her death.
Loved ones had spent months hoping she would be found alive, sharing her photo and information through social media and community channels after her disappearance was first reported.
Investigators are urging anyone who saw Fuller or Reese in the days around August 29, or who noticed unusual activity near Shakespeare Road in the weeks that followed, to come forward.
Even small details about vehicles, movements, or conversations could help them reconstruct what happened between the time Fuller was last seen and the discovery of her remains.
Authorities say the case remains active and ongoing.
As they await final autopsy findings and continue their work, they stress that their priority is to determine exactly how Angela Fuller died and whether anyone will face criminal charges in connection with her death.
